I get excruciating back pain when there's a blockage in my liver.

I'd call the doctor. Any chills and fever?

I have not taken his temp and he complains of cold but it is vey cold here

and I asked him to call the dr. but he says it is only his back acting up

and a cold coming on since he has been exposed to all the ill women who keep

coming into the beauty salon and contaminating the place although he is

really good about washing his hands and even wearing rubber gloves with the

truly sick women who cough and spit all over the place. I guess if the pain

gets bad enough he will call. I know to look for the temp and I have heard

many talk about the back pain I guess I watch for the radiating pain in URQ.

Penny, thanks for answereing. Today is just a Pity Party for me.

The blockage in my case was due to a very rare (11th case in med. lit.) fungal

" ball " -- so it would not have gone through without medication. In ordinary

instances, the sludge eventually moves along.

If you still have any doubt, call the doctor ... but I'd watch him like a hawk

for fever and chills. The chills I am talking about are shaking chills -- and

this indicates something that should be checked ASAP -- don't wait for Wed.

BTW, I never have had the RUQ pain with this ... just crushing chest pain and

back pain.

Dee,

I would take matters into my own hands and call the doctor for

him. If I waited for my fiancee Ian to call the doctor when he was

sick, it would never get done. All of the nurses and doctors know my

name and my face because I call them alot and attend every

appointment with Ian. Sometimes I think I am overbearing, but then I

remember that it is better err on the side of caution. I think he

does appreciate my insistence because deep down I think he is afraid

to make those calls to the doctor. I also make sure he doesnt have

to worry about any of the medical bills, I open and take care of them

without bothering him with it. That is the last thing he needs to

deal with.

I understand that it is not always possible to call the doctor for

him, but if you are truly worried you should trust your instincts.

It might even help to call one of the nurses, just to explain some of

his symptoms and see what they say. Then you do not have to speak

directly to the doctor, and if the nurse sees a problem he/she can

refer you to the doctor. I have been known to do that a few times.

In any case I hope that he starts to feel better. I know how hard it

is to watch the one that you love in so much pain.

extreme pain but I am concerned that it is urinary strictures that

prevent him from emptying bladder or his liver that is progressively

getting worse. He looks yellow but people tell me that I am only

seeing the glass as half empty and not half full. He does not want

to call the doctor saying that they can not do anything more for

him. You guys, I am in a feeling of hopelessness and helplessness

here and can not seem to shake it.
