Guest guest
Hi there, Tony has had 2 ERCP the last one in August. He never had any problems with either of them. His procedure took 20 minutes but he had to stay a few hrs after to monitor him. They gave him this medicine to make him drowsy. He ended up sleeping all day. He said there was no pain involved in the procedure and he doesn't remember much. While doing the procedure if they get to close to the pancreas and get dye in there it can cause pancrentitis. It is something that happens and can't be helped. The key is to get someone that does a lot of ERCP's. As they are doing the ERCP they are looking through a camera that they insert down throat to bile ducts and they can see everything as they are doing it. So they will be able to know right away if he has PSC or not. Has your husband had a liver biopsy yet? I hope this answers your questions. If not I will be glad to answer any more questions you might have. I wish you and your husband well. Please keep us posted. in CT
