Dear group,

Just two questions:

1) RUQ pain = right UPPER quadrant Can it be this is the same pain I feel on

the right side, the region of the LOWER ribs ?

2) ER = emergency room. Correct

Marc,

Yes, you have it right. The abdomen is divided into 4 parts by

imaginary horizontal and vertical lines that run approximately

through your belly button (umbilical cord site). Left and right,

upper and lower - the upper quadrants extend up to the diaphram

and are covered by the lower ribs.
