Guest guest
Don't you dare leave!!!! I've thought about it myself, but there is so much commraderie, advice and commiserating here. I, too, have put on an enormous amount of weight and embarrassed for people to see me. Of course, everyone says...."Just Exercise".....yeah, step into my body for awhil and say that. There is much more to us than our physical size. There are days that all I can do is read the messages and take what I can from them. Stay with us. As you've seen, we canalso be silly and fun. Hugs to you sweetie, Tigger
Guest guest
Tigger/Norma, Wow i have heard them all as well... how about the "if you would just lower your food intake" lol like right i bet the skinny ones eat way more than we do.... and how about "just exercise more" .. most of the time i am on the move... how much more... run in my sleep heeheee.... i have no clue of the easy way to lose.. i have tried them all... and have come to understand we all have our ways of doing it and we all know what works for us. I have had people who weigh maybe 100 lbs say "oh hun your not fat, you just big boned:" then the next second complain of how fat their belly is getting... oh please hugs you It is who you are that matters, not what you look like and I love each and everyone of you:) Huggles you lots Sophia -------Original Message------- From: Tigger Date: 01/09/05 05:58:
Guest guest
Just proves my point (and one my doctor argued with me) that this surgery is NOT "one size fits all". I have an appetite like yours. Yesterday I had 3 protein shakes and a plain hamburg patty. That's it. So, in my case, a surgeon who does the same proximal surgery on everyone is really cheating those of use who do not have large appetites. Of course, when you weigh 250 pounds (and I do) they don't believe that you're not eating everything in sight. <sigh> Good rant. I liked it. Guest guest
I had a gastric bypass in 2001, lost 160 lbs, put 40 back on. ----- Original Message ----- From: Margaret Drinkwater I still weigh 250 after gastric bypass surgery. I lost 130 with the surgery. But I got pregnant right after the surgery; 3 months! ugh. Then again a year later so I didn't loose all I wanted to. I did wonderful with the surgery and would have lost it all, I have no doubts. But I wouldn't give up my boys for any amount of weight. Guest guest
I had gastric by-pass 2/12/02... lost 60 pounds and regained 50 pounds. Is there a pattern here with the weight loss and fibro? Guest guest
Who knows....I know I suffer from severe depression and of course, what makes me feel better? Chocolate, of course! Am I supposed to have it? Not the sugary variety, anyways. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tigger I had gastric by-pass 2/12/02... lost 60 pounds and regained 50 pounds. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
You guys are amazing. Did your fibro act up after your surgery? I think mine did. Also made my depression worse. Glad you're here. I've felt alone with the WLS thing. Tigger Re: Vent/Norma Who knows....I know I suffer from severe depression and of course, what makes me feel better? Chocolate, of course! Guest guest
No, not really. I never really felt totally in remission all the time. From time to time I thought it was coming on, but then not. I have several surgeries so I wasn't too stressed about that one. My depression was strange afterwards though. Not too sure how to explain it...just strange. ----- Original Message ----- From: Tigger You guys are amazing. Did your fibro act up after your surgery? I think mine did.
