The Vest and my 2 cents worth

I’ve

been using the Vest for 4 ½ years.  After a year of appeals to the insurance

company (they kept denying coverage), I sent them documentation of the

remarkable results I’d had with it.  They had an independent review done

and finally covered the machine.  I still paid a hefty co-pay of about $3,000.

I’m glad I fought for my Vest, and I have no regrets about paying the huge

co-pay.

Yes,

exercise is extremely important.  But, exercise doesn’t do any of us any

good if we’re too sick to do it.  I work out on an elliptical when I’m

feeling well enough.  I also am very faithful about doing 2 sessions with my

Vest every day.  I still get infections, but I get through them easier than I

did before.  I haven’t missed a day of work due to my lungs since I’ve

been using my Vest.  My fevers don’t get as high, and my coughing isn’t

as severe.  I remember the old days, and I don’t want to go back.

Maybe

the doctors (the ones who believe they know it all) who think that the old ways

are the best ways should open their eyes for the sake of their patients and do

a little research into progress and technology.  My Vest won’t make my

lungs perfect, but it is helping to give me a better life than I had with

manual percussion and nebulizing.
