Actually, carob has more carbs than an equivalent

amount of cocoa. There's also a chocolate fudge soda,

I think Polar makes it, which is really good. I've

used it to make chocolate jello.

One really great candy fix for us chocoholics is to

mix natural peanut butter with Splenda and cocoa.

Roll it into balls, or just eat with a spoon...minimal

carbs and great taste!

I make sure I have my sugar free goodies in the house in

case...Chocolate covered peanuts and chocolate wafer cookies and my

fav.Brayers chocolate/vanilla/strawberry ice cream in non fat and only

90 calories and no sugar.its so good..

sweet tooth

I have a sweet tooth so this is very hard for me to adjust to

especially as my husband is the same way as me and is always eating

candy and chocolate and drinking soda.

I know this well. There are a lot of great diabetic cookbooks with

desserts in them. Find a diabetic cheesecake recipe and add some coco

powder, Sugar free chocolate pudding, I personally buy chocolate

flavored coffee and use 2 scoops regular coffee and 1 scoop flavored and

you still get a chocolate taste. I have heard that carob tastes like

chocolate without the carbs etc.

Mmm.... I'll look for the Polar... where do you buy it?

I'll have to try that :-)

I shop at Hannaford, but I think most of the local

(near Albany NY) grocery stores carry it. They have a

great black cherry soda, too, as well as cream and

birch beer. For some reason, though, sarsparilla only

comes in regular, not diet.

bar with almonds I'm keeping in the cupboard :-)

Oops sorry sandy...lol

One thing that is good is that I can't eat sugar free stuff in big

quantities because it can give me a stomach ache. All I can eat of sugar

free chocolate is a 2 inch piece..sus
