I've also heard both 'stories' eg sp colour does/doesn't mean infx. My response was that if there wasn't any infx then sp would be less qty and not any particular colour. No reply to that. Seems common sense to me that if there's dark/green/yucky whatever sputum there must be some level of infx happening & unless removed will cause more unwellness. Aspergillus looks like thick, frayed black cotton. Pseudomonas is bright apple green uninfected, turns darker grn w/ infx, but I've always thought pretty much any dk grn sputum is NOT good! If looks brownish, could be a little old blood, pink/orangey colours newer blood (also " normal " ), & another dubious one as indicator of infx. Basically my docs tell me judging infx is colour, quantity, energy, how I feel on wellness scale, rather than clinical symptoms eg fever. just my tuppence-worth joy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
