Guest guest
Hi! I'm self-medicating right now because my old doc is no longer covered under my insurance. I go to a new doc Oct 1. I have not had any blood work done since I was on 3 grains. My PCP called and told me I was hyper. My naturopath thought the readings were fine and said most of his patients felt better in that range. At the time the only symptom I had was extreme fatige...not being able to function much at all. And I saw no improvements of any hypo symptoms. At the 3 grain level the reading were: FT4 2.1 (0.8-1.8) FT3 515 (230-420) TSH <0.01 Hope this helps you. When I dropped down from 3 grain to 2 grains I was still tired but had no other symptoms. I cut down to 1 1/2 and am not as tired. I've tried upping back to 2 grains but I seem to feel tired and get heart palps after eating. Think I should go back to two grains and see how I feel after a few weeks? The other day I took 2 grains and was tired the next day so yesterday I took only 1 and 1/2 again and I'm still tired today. The only improvement I noticed on 1 1/2 grains was my skin clearing up a tiny bit. I saw no improvements at all on 2 or 3 grains. I much appreciate your help. Thanks,
Guest guest
> Anyone have the same problem? When I was on 2 grains of Armour the problem wasn't as bad but had to always drink plenty of water and eat lots of veggies. 2 grains of Armour made me too lethargic though. Had to cut down to a grain and a half ...not as tired...but terribly constipated. I don't know which is worse! > , your situation is an oddity. Being on too much Armour shouldn't make you " lethargic " ---in fact, just the opposite!! What was your Free T3 when you were on 2 grains for at least 5 weeks?? And what is your free T3 now on 1 1/2 grains? That would help us help you. And being constipated is a sign of low T3, which is a sign of still being hypo. Guest guest
> I've been changing doses every couple of weeks. Unless you are experiencing problems that are serious or concerning, changing doses every few weeks is not wise. You need at least 5 weeks to find the optimal result of each dose. It's also why it can be wise to increase gradually, staying on each gradual dose at least 5 weeks. Janie

Guest guest
If you google 'fruit paste for constipation' you will find a lot of recipes for himemade things that really do help. I make a paste of senna tea, prunes, dates, figs and raisins. The bitter taste of the senna is masked by the addition of some brown sugar and some lemon juice. It is actually quiter good tasting. I know they used this years ago in nursing homes. Another thing you can do is purchase Mirilax. Del's gastroenterologist has him on Mirilax daily because of his severe constipation problems. We also use stool softeners and occasionally have to resort to suppositories or enemas. His neurologist says he has the worst case of constipation he has everseen. Hope this helps. Nan > > > Has anyone experienced issues with severe constipation with their loved ones? If so, what do you recommend? My sister is on Seroquel and also stool softeners. She doesn't eat very well and due to her limited ability to walk hardly no exercise. She has been in a lot of pain and discomfort. > > Thanks, > > > > > > >
