Guest guest
OMG , I'm so happy for you!!! I'm sorry for the fiasco at the hospital, thats horrible....and getting all too common unfortunately. I have been very very pleased with the " service " at OU Med Ctr but I wouldnt go to Norman Regional if my life depended on it. I am so thrilled that your surgery was successful!! and put your tatoo back together?? Wow! Dr. Frim sounds fabulous! HUGS, Subject: my surgery- Dr Frim To: tetheredspinalcord Date: Friday, December 3, 2010, 12:50 AM  Hi Everyone, I had surgery with Dr Frim on the 23rd. The surgery went really well, all my pain is gone. I just feel the incision pain and am on meds for that. My leg numbness and tingling- GONE. I haven't heard this about The University of Chicago from anyone so I thought I would prepare anyone who is going there. They are not very nice. Make sure you have a patient advocate. I was left with an empty pain pump that took 2hrs to be refilled, my hubby had to get the charge nurse and yell. This happened no joke 3 times. I did end up getting my own room which was great. Another incident happened when hubby went home to change. I was on dialudid and valium in the am. They gave me TYLENOL as I was crying of pain. No explanation, they refused to page Dr Frim or a resident. I had to call security and the hospital afministor came out with some counselor apologizing like crazy. The nurse was sent horrible. They were all mean. They would not show me how to use the bed pan, or answer any question. I was sent home. But because I could not urinate all day we went to the local ER trying to avoid them. It was like night and day. They gave me shots and held my hand before inserting the catheter! There was some bacteria in the urine so Dr Frim asked for an ambulance transfer to U of Chicago. I was in more hell for 2 days until released. I thought I would warn anyone going there of what they should expect. Dr Frim was great, we have been emailing back and forth and checking on my progress. Right now only incision pain! I have to tell you I have a huge tattoo and it's very intricate, he put it together PERFECT! So I love Dr Frim, but be prepared
Guest guest
YAY! Am so happy your surgery went well and if you are already feeling benefits that is amazing as you are so early in the healing process! I am so sorry for your experience at the hospital -- this surgery is hell to go through with good nurses, let alone rotten ones. My last surgery I had one nasty nurse (and she was young so I would hate to see her in 20 yrs) -- I dreaded everytime she was on duty as she was a witch. Luckily everyone else was great. But, in my experience regardless of how good the nurses are they don't have enough time to take care of you and you really need someone with you for the first few days until you are mobile. Guest guest
, So happy to hear your surgery went well. That is terrific and I hope things continue to improve. The hospital situation sounds inexcusable and must have been horrible. Thank goodness your husband was able to stay with you. All the best in your recovery. Hope you are taking off work for a while. > > Hi Everyone, > > I had surgery with Dr Frim on the 23rd. The surgery went really well, all my pain is gone.
