Guest guest
Hey, i am not a type 2 or a type 1, yes i am fat, not due to any thing i did, but due to medical neglgence on my mothers part, and guess what i am the 5 genration of diabetics in my family, 1.great great great grandmother, great great grandfather, great grandmother, grandfather, mother, me, my brother has always been thin and he was diagnoised type 2 adult onset 5 years ago. hes 40 now so yes i do know at least 1 very thin type 2, and have pics of the others, there are only 3 of us that are fat. so i have to say your wrong about all type 2's being fat, and it being their falt. do to over indulgence. glenna http://www.geocities.com/barnie_64/FAMILY.html Re: A Mean Post........ (maybe) How many type 2 diabetics do you know that were diagnosed while thin?? Are you saying that obesity has nothing to do with type 2 diabetes.... Guest guest
> How many type 2 diabetics do you know that were diagnosed while thin?? **I was. And yes, I'm type 2, although not syndrome X. I still have pancreas function, and was at my ideal weight of 120# at dx. I'm a bit over that now from winter, and losing it. I do find I need to be a little extra diligent on insulin about weight gain, especially in the winter, but I love the tight control. Barb Type 2, insulin, 5'4 " , 123#, hard work, mod. Guest guest
brittle adolesant diabetic, diagnosed under the age of 20 in my case i was 14, in simple english my pancrious, just flat dose not work right, it gives me insulin when i don't need it and dose not give the insulin when i do, i have extream highs and lows, say i can be 447 and then all of the sudden i can drop down to 25 with or with out the insulin. yesterday for example, woke up at 81 then even before i ate and after i had taken all my meds and shot, i spiked up 226, then droped down to 40 all with then an hour and a half. this on my part for me, as explained, is i went years without thyroid hormons t3 and t4, so it in turn messed up my whole metabolic system. example, sorry fellas, my left side of my chest has no mamory glands, my right side on the other hand is all there. the cause is i had no thyroid function, from age 8 till age 22 so i did not develope during poberty, right. glenna http://www.geocities.com/barnie_64/FAMILY.html Re: A Mean Post........ Guest guest
yes i do have quite a few scary lows, yes i am on insulin 45units of humlin nph or some call it n, its slow acting and last me 24hrs most of the time i am also on actos this is my 2nd week on that and was just put on lipitor 1day after the actos have been low carbing for about 2-3 months more strongly the last 2weeks. i have to have someone with me at all times during the transitions of meds because my lows are so low i have only passed out once because of a low and been in a coma for two weeks because of high sugar, i was 17yrs old and my mother still refused to keep me on meds she sit and watched me have extreamly pain ful cycles and be sick. i was in time able to conceve and have children, labor was a breaze comparied to the pain of my cycles. glenna http://www.geocities.com/barnie_64/FAMILY.html Re: not all type 2's are fat >Date: Mon, 2 Apr 2001 11:47:29 -0500 > >brittle adolesant diabetic, diagnosed under the age of 20 in my case i was >14, in simple english >my pancrious, just flat dose not work right, it gives me insulin when i >don't need it and dose not give the insulin when i do, i have extream highs >and lows, say i can be 447 and then all of the sudden i can drop down to 25 >with or with out the insulin. yesterday for example, woke up at 81 then >even before i ate and after i had taken all my meds and shot, i spiked up >226, then droped down to 40 all with then an hour and a half. >this on my part for me, as explained, is i went years without thyroid >hormons t3 and t4, so it in turn messed up my whole metabolic system. >example, sorry fellas, my left side of my chest has no mamory glands, my >right side on the other hand is all there. the cause is i had no thyroid >function, from age 8 till age 22 so i did not develope during poberty, >right. >glenna _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

Guest guest
child hood diabetic, brittle adolessant diabetic, yes that is a catigory, type 2 was onset adult diabetic, on non-insulin dependant diabetic, but as you see many on the list are type 2 insulin dependant to keep bg levels in check. and also there is gestational diabetics, which is a catigory i feel into 3 times. lets put this to rest the medical commity has lots to learn as we all do. being diabetic is a tricky indivulized deaseas(sp) you really can't catigorize it. sorry ps: please forgive the spelling, its not a strong suit. glenna http://www.geocities.com/barnie_64/FAMILY.html Re: A Mean Post........ > (maybe) > > > > > > How many type 2 diabetics do you know that were > diagnosed while thin?? > >Are > > you saying that obesity has nothing to do with > type 2 diabetes.... Guest guest
That's not different. I am type 1 but follow a type 2 with no insulin. They based my " typing " on my age and ADA. Lot's of people fall in that kind of catagory. Bobbie
