They are EVERYWHERE. From the south pole to the far reachs of the Amazon rain forests. Every woman on this planet has DDT in her breast tissue. Heck, all the cleaners in my town are EPA SUPERFUND sites. One in particular is very ominous looking. I was very curious about it and I went over there one chilly autumn afternoon and behind this dry cleaners were three dark blue semi containers with EPA SUPERFUND SITE spray painted on the side of them. I peaked through the fence and sure enough I saw about 8 large 50 gallon drums with the bio hazard seals on them. I then heard what sounded like a large compresser running inside one of these semi containers. They were pumping water out of the ground and seperating the solvents from the water to try to stop a massive plume of toxic cleaning solvents from contaminating more wells. The funny thing was that this very old dry cleaning establishment was still in business!!. These SUPERFUND sites are ALL OVER the place. The very dump your weekly trash goes to most likely has a flood of contaminated liquid flowing from it(solvents etc, even plastics give off gas when they break down). So we all contribute to this nightmare, in our own way. I have not given up on eating organic veggies though. For me its a mental thing. I just feel more comfortable consuming them. I trust that they are a " little " less contaminated than whats out there in our grocery stores. As far as Physicians. You know, these doctors dont have it easy like you all think. They have huge bills and liability insurance to worry about and lawsuits and the stress of having to tell a patient they have a terminal illness. They are human just like all of us. They suffer also. Yes, some make mistakes but medicine is a very difficult field to be in. I know my hepatolagist is on edge everytime he does my ERCPS. I can feel his tension. He stands on his feet for two or more hours straight gently working stents into place a centimeter at a time. My last visit to my hep was an interesting one. I watched two surly argumentative guys walk out of the middle of a consult with him cursing and swearing. I was told by his nurse that everyday he puts up with this kind of abuse. People dont show up for their appointments on time or they dont show up at all repeatedly. I worry he might get burned out one of these days and then where will I be. Will I ever be able to find another physician like him?, a person who goes to great lengths to take care of me, providing me with a years worth of Ensure supplement, and always showing up after my ERCPs to check on me and visiting me everyday while Iam in the hospital. (He only makes about $500 dollars when he does my ERCPs because Iam one of his medi-cal patients) Iam so lucky to have this guy taking care of me. Someday Faith I hope you find a special physician to take care of your son. They are out there. Just ask or others in our group. Guest guest
What really is so irritating is when we hear that the AMA gives a " slight nod " about something that is so obvious but adds that there is nobody on the throne who passed the word down that this could be for real. Well I am sorry but there was healing before there was any AMA. and diet plays a major factor in almost any disease if not every one. Common sense would tell anyone that a healthy environment in the body would most definitely encourage more healing and also less flare-ups. The liver has to process all the toxins- HELLO- whether it be hormones, pesticides, refined sugar, hydrogenated oils, etc.etc. the liver has to deal with it. It is just unbelievable that there are such stupid professionals out there who would say anything else. It makes me wonder if they just want the livers to deteriorate faster than they are. After all they do make more money when we get sick more often. Aubrey, I hope this doesn't offend you. You seem like you have a much better grasp of the truth than most physicians, certainly more open-minded. I do get carried away on this subject. Guest guest
Thanks for the thought Andi- actually I have had an MD that I absolutely loved who died several years ago. Maybe that is why I am so critical of the ones I have met since. He would spend an hour with each patient if needed and prescribed herbs as much as medicine. He was my daughter's pediatrician and died before was born. I learned more from that man than I learned in my highschool career. When Kayley was born I grieved for my Mom but when was born I grieved for Dr. Murray. Maybe someday I will find another dr. with the same compassion and integrity I am counting on it!
