hi Cris,

sorry, missed the bit about being an Air Force base. There's one not

so far from my town, about 5 hrs drive south, in Townsville. There

would be others around Australia but I'm not familiar with them.

Cairns where I live is 17 degrees S, 145.5 degrees E. 125 degrees E

would be Western Australia or degrees south even Tasmania (I'd have

to get my World Atlas out for that).

I live about 3 miles from the beach (best not right on it especially

in cyclones!), just into the foothills, so pretty much have the best

of both worlds - minutes away from going for a swim or a hike (when I

was still able to) in the rainforest. We're very fortunate in our

lovely surroundings here - unless you don't like 3-4 months humid &

hot, mozzies, sandflies etc. It can get uncomfortable, but I don't

know anywhere that doesn't & I don't cope with cold damp weather or

hot dry weather at all well - much worse than this for me!

I do hope you're feeling better by the time your son comes home - I

know the feeling of wanting to be at my best with friends / family I

don't see often. I'm sorry I don't have tips to help other than

flushing but that won't help if it's in the upper sinuses. Have you

tried 2 parts salt/1 part bicarb about half tspn to 100ml for sinus

flush? I sometimes add a few drops of vinegar. Yes, stings a wee

while but seems to clear greenish discharge. I used to put tiger

balm on my sinuses sometimes just to ease them, i tried all sorts of

things, but nothing really worked until had surgery.

cheers,

joy
