Guest guest Posted January 6, 2005 Report Share Posted January 6, 2005 About fms, or any other chronic pain/fatigue illness that the government doesn't acknowledge while raising funds for research, social security benefits and so on. It could be a topic of interest if more would talk about it. How many of us are losing our homes, our families, our marriages, our lives because of this illness? That is exactly what daytime tv is about these days. Now of course 'reality' fms wouldn't be much fun to watch but listening to the stories of our lives with it, would be. The run around from doctors, the disbelief of Dr.'s, SSA as well as our own family members. The lack of funding, research and medication. Medication alone would be a hot topic because alot of us take the class2 or class B medications that media has added so much hype too. The simple fact that they say something like 6 million Americans have this illness yet they still consider it "in our heads". Why do 6 million +++ suffer from this illness with no answers, no support and very little research? It can't be a topic of conversation until WE (those of us that suffer with it) start screaming for help and recognition..... Ok OK .. I'm preaching.... I'll step off my soap box now....
