Friday was supposed to be a great night.

My MIL was going to watch the children.

had won tickets to a play (romeo and juliet) at our local

theatre (they're very good) and we were going to dinner first. WHOO

HOOO

had the day off work, and he went into Chicago (about 1.5-2

hour drive) with his dad to the auto show.

I got a call about 2:00, had another one of his vertigo

attacks. And this one was bad!! His dad didn't know what to do. So I

quickly councelled him on what to do and how to handle it. About 3:00

scott was 'ok' enough to move to the car. It took 3 hours in the

traffic to get home.. he was in bad shape too.

I felt bad for him, but I also knew our evening out was not meant to

be!!

Although my MIL did come get for the evening anyway - they both

were looking forward to it. Mitchel stayed with me, he just wanted to

play in his room.

So that was my evening out...taking care of mostly. I did feel

bad for him though.

Mitchel has been pretty funny lately. He's most happy when he's

playing by himself, then runs in to tell me about a toy (or just to

make sure I'm still there).

He's been watching the olympics and enjoys the speed skating, bob

sledding and luge (I think he likes the speed!) He even pulled out

his little rocker that he never sits on, in front of the TV so he

could watch last night. and he was just so chatty - commenting on the

races. It was hilarious!

AND a good thing happened. While I didn't 'leave the house' I did at

one point yesterday say I was going to my room, and I was there for 2

hours by myself, and slept for about an hour and watched my TV show

for the other hour. It was wonderful!!!!!!!

Good for you Kerri!!! My weekend was quite good too.I took the kids

to a birthday party on Saturday night. It was at one of those soft

play places and I fully expected to have Andy surgically attached for

2 jours but the kid surprised me !! Even though he never interacted

with any other kids ,he played in the ball pit for 1 1/2 hours!!! he

wouldn't come out the darn thing to get some supper!! Guess I'll be

taking him back there then! On Sunday,dh let me sleep on (till about

midday-though he did put the central heating on in attempt to get me

out of bed as the room was boiling). On Sunday night my mum and dad

came up to baby sit so that we could go out for a belated Valentines

meal. All in all a good weekend .

I started Andy on a dairyfree diet today so I'll keep you all posted .

Those play places are odd, it Mitchel til he was about 5 to actually

go in the tunnels at Mcdonalds - he'd either sit at the entrance, or

pace in front of it. Now he's climbing all through them like a pro.

Hope you enjoyed your valentines meal ALONE!!! That's a blessing - a

dinner alone!!

Sounds like a very decent weekend afterall, Kerri - even if things did not

go the way you had planned.

I hope feels much better? I take it this happens to him often?

What's up??

Sorry you missed the play. Was it a one time thing or will the play be

running for awhile?

:o(

Glad to hear your MIL came for anyhow. My MIL, I think, would have

cancelled before my mind was made up that we're not going out LOL.

By the way - how is YOUR dad doing?

That is one of the main reasons I don't like those playplaces.

Sydney is usually just watching, and jumping around being happy, which is

good.

Madison is usually at the most dangerous spot there, like at the bottom of

the slide where 3 children are sliding down at the same time, or one kid is

coming down with snowboots to knock her backwards.

Or worse, she is CLIMBING the slide up, and she is quite good at this - -

until some child unintentionally comes FLYING down the slide at the speed of

light and Madison goes flying through the air like a piece of dust.

Same with the ballpen. All the other kids are so active and strong in those

things, and TINY little Madison usually gets clobbered. I've seen Sydney

shove back, and stand her own ground - but with the noise level, Madison

usually has one ear plugged, the other ear plugged with her shoulder, and

standing there with a sly grin, and THUD!

It's just not much fun. They seem to enjoy it, but heck, I get no joy from

losing my child in a ballpit because she is UNDER the balls with all of them

dirty feet and socks and shoes LOL.

Ok, 's better today. He does get vertigo attacks, he's been to

so many doctors and had so many tests. And they don't know why he

gets them. But they are bad, his head spins so bad, he's a ball of

sweat, he can't stand up, he throws up, and he can hardly talk, he

sounds like he's really slurred. It's awful.

Yea, I'm sure the play is going on for awhile, but let's face, it.

Since he won the tickets through work THAT was my chance. Like he's

gonna wanna PAY for tickets LOL!! We'll see. It was more the fact we

were going OUT.

and yea, I have a great MIL (and FIL) she was so funny. She was so

looking forward to seeing the kids, and was also excited. So

that was very nice. I didn't have to really cook dinner either

(mitchel = peanut butter sandwhich) and wasn't eating yet. So

that part was Good!! LOL.

And my dad is doing pretty good. He seems to be pretty positive about

it all. However I think a lot of that is for my benefit cause I dont'

think he wants to worry me. My mom says sometimes he seems upset, and

other times real upbeat. Right now they're researching different

treatments and centers. Looking for the right 'fit' for him. Although

some are quite far away - but I suppose it's all with what you feel

most comfortable doing.

Thanks for asking.

So Grace, and you? Do you have a full and complete kitchen yet?

I know exactly what you mean .I was really apprehensive about taking

him, but then Lyndsey got sssssoooooo upset that I took them.I reaaly

stressed about keeping an eye on him because it was so busy ,and he

hates things like that ,especially when it's noisy too .Put it this

way I've been to quieter concerts!!!! lol Anyway for about 30 mins

he sat and played with his *woody doll* and then he ventured into the

ball pit .The ball pit was for under 3s only but I explained that he

was autistic and even though he was 4 would it be al right to let him

in ?? As there were NO KIDS in the thing anyway they could hardly say

no ,and he loved it .The only other kids to venture in were a couple

of wee ones and they didn't like it ,so he had the thing all to

himself!! If it had been older kids in it there is no way he would

have coped .(or me for that matter)

Well, I certainly can relate to your evening! I'm sorry you missed your

It's cool Mitchel likes the Olympics. I'm looking forward to the Skeleton

Grace: Do they let the kids wear shoes there? Here

they sell you socks at the counter if your kid doesn't

have them on, cause you can't wear shoes and you can't

be barefoot. Just curious.

Sounds like Meniere's. See if you can get a script for a scopalamine

patch for him to use as soon as one starts coming on.

Hope that might be helpful.

So sorry Kerri. I didn't realize that was still dealing with the

vertigo. How terrible. Glad you did get some time to yourself though.

That is so important. BTW, which show were you watching?

If there are more than 3 kids will go and hide in a corner. what I try

to do is go on the " off " times when there are fewer other kids. She does

well then and it's easier to keep track of her. We were planning Chucky

Cheese today until a friend said you know the kids are off school this week

I was watching a TV show I know is silly, but it's one of the guilty
