I can testify to this!! My doctor switched me from 150 mg of Synthroid to 30 mg

of Armour and then left it at that for 8-9 months. I went SEVERELY hypo. I got

breast milk (anyone have this happen?) my hair was falling out, very tired,

severe vertigo (so much that I have been off work for 3 weeks). It was

terrible. Went and had my TSH tested and he said " it's 2.91, come back in 6

weeks " So, I told him that wouldn't work. They didn't know what to do so I

went to a different doctor and she upped it to 60. Still didn't feel better so

it is now at 90 mg. I sure hope this works. How long does that take for your

armour to kick in enough to make the vertigo go away?

told it is best to have a switch to Armour slowly like he did, a low

dose.

You are right. It is prudent, when switching, to start on a lower

dose than possibly needed, in order to see how you will react to the

T3. But it is also prudent NOT to stay on the low dose too long. Your

hypo symptoms return with a vengeance!!

Keep us informed how you are doing. We look forward to when you can

say " I FEEL GREAT!! "

What do you suggest your FT3 level be? Is it okay as long as it is in the

levels the lab has?

You have SUCH a conservative doc. 15 mg. is nothing with someone who

has such a low T3!! Alas. But eventually, you will get somewhere.

Just make take you a lot longer.

1 grain (60 mg) of Armour thyroid contains 9 mcg of T3 and 38 mcg of

T4. .......so, according to my calculations, it looks like it would

be 28.5 mcg's for 45 mg....sue in TN

little time. I don't want to tax myself more than needed. Does anyone

have the amount of t4 in 45 mg?
