i'm just sitting here, collecting my thoughts for the day and praising God,

overwhelmed at the thought of our family all being reunited at this hotel...

to think that the last time we were all together under this roof, jim was

such a desperately sick man, jason's liver was wholly inside his own body...

this was december 6th, a mere 9 days ago. soooo much has happened since

then; so many ups and downs and stressful times for so many people.

time to shower and dress and escort my amazing son down to the hotel

breakfast of belgian waffles, get him situated back in bed, rush to the

hospital pharmacy and walk in jim's hospital door by 10:00 am because, let's

face it, he's anxious to make a hospital jailbreak. he has been forewarned

by the hospital staff, though, that it could take hours to find a surgeon to

doublecheck his drugs. however, we can all appreciate how jim is chomping

at the bit to get to this hotel!

it's a VERY good thing i slept well last night (until 2, when i needed an

asthma treatment) ...in fact, we all slept well (or well enough) last night:

jim had his final lines removed which gave him great freedom of movement so

he slept soundly, that is, until 2 when he started having a little bit of a

reaction to the prograf... jason slept like a baby til he started another

very low grade fever which broke in the cold sweats at 2.

i find it so odd this all occurred for the 3 of us at the same time. must

be a family thing :-)

in a few days, jim thinks he'll want to start dictating e-mails, so hang in

there and soon you'll be hearing his words, his thoughts, his

thankful-beyond-measure heart...

much love,

maureen
