(((((((Norma))))))) So sorry to hear about your fall. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. My hubby doesn't like me to even get out and around in our yard with the dogs, because I've had such a hard time with falling. But usually the dogs don't have anything to do with it. In fact, our dogs are so big, I should hitch them up to a "sled" of some sort and let them pull me around!! LOL.....I can picture that now! I hope you won't be in too much pain tomorrow. Could you increase you pain meds thru the night to help? And even keep them by your bed so you won't have to get up for them. Debby in TNClosson's wrote:

I started the day not too badly until around 12:30 pm. My little dog Rosie was outside in the backyard chained to the step. She wanted to come in but the chain was caught up in a snow hill. I was in my bare feet so I decided to put some rubber shoes on and go around the house to untangle her. The shoes didn't fit because of the swelling in them, but I put most of my feet in them. The front steps are about 4 feet high and go down on the right side with a drop straight ahead as you go out the door. Alaska, our other dog, bigger, was chained to the front step.

As I was coming out onto the steps the dog jumped up on the step and tripped me with her chain. I stumbled and went diving off the steps head first and landed on the ground with a thud hitting my head at the bottom of the steps. I can still remember seeing the ground coming up at me and I helpless. I am a very large woman and weak in the muscles especially in my legs. After struggling even to get myself upright I had to hang onto the post. I tried and tried to no availe.

I couldn't get my legs from under me, and the dog chain

was between my legs to boot. I was in my housecoat and

the temperature is cold. After struggling for about

15 minutes and just falling back down I was feeling like

I was going to freeze out there before anyone found me.

All I could think of doing is screaming for help. I screamed

and screamed for a good ten minutes. When a car drove by

I waved my arms and yelled help me!

I continued yelling

and then one of our neighbors down and across the street heard

me when he stepped outside for a cigarette. I saw him

coming. At the same time our neighbor next door came home

and came over to help him. They had one dilly of a time

lifting me off the ground. But they got me into the house

and I sat down. They were about to phone an ambulance

because I had hit my head and I was dizzy, when my

hubby phoned just to talk to me. I asked him to come home.

When he came home he took me to Emergency where they gave

me lots of xrays. I had a very nice doctor this time

I messed up my right arm, but didn't

break anything. Just received scrapes and bruises. My arm

still hurts, but it should feel better in a few days.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow when all the aches

and pains appear. I landed on my left hip so we'll see

if I hurt my back tomorrow when it usually starts hurting.

I am so thankful for those two neighbors who cared enough

to come. I'm sure all the neigbors heard me. I need

to lift weights or something to increase my muscle strength.

I felt so helpless laying there, not able to get up even to

my knees.

Thanks for reading about my day.

loving hugs,

Norma

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general.2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better.Have a nice day everyone.__________________________________________________
