Guest guest
I know a famous Lyme doc who says that he doses children based upon a 120-pound adult. He explains that a child that weighs 60 pounds would get 1/2 of an adult dose, and a child that weighs 40 pounds would get 1/3 of an adult dose. Sorry, you will have to convert kg to pounds to figure this out. Most of the reports I see, say that starting with one drop is usually recommended at first, except that I have heard of some people who herx very bad need to put one drop in a glass of water and then sip the glass throughout the day. Yes, some people are that sick. We did fine starting on one drop, and herxed the most on the 4th day. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > Hi group, > > I am interested in anti-viral treatment with samento. Could anyone please tell me what is the best working dose for a 4-year-old who weighs 17-18kg. Guest guest
Back in the day when the Cowden Protocol was new and more simple, it was suggested to start with Cumanda. After 2-3 months, make the switch to Sumento. I would recommend this, especially if your son was on antibiotics. Ramp up slowly (one drop for a couple of days, then slowly add one drop every day or two) until reaching 10-15 drops. Full dose for adults is 30 drops (I think the bottle says 15 drops). My son is about 45 lbs and seems to tolerate 15+ drops, twice a day, of any of the NutraMedix herbs. I do fine on 30+ drops, twice a day. I always ramp up very slowly. I know this stuff is for real by the way it made me herx by ramping up quickly. Take care, Rich (skiweasel7) > > > > Hi group, > > > > I am interested in anti-viral treatment with samento. Guest guest
Hi, 17-18 kg is somewhere in the neighborhood of 38 lbs. Here is the directions that Dr. C himself gave me back in August when I began Samento with my daughter: " If your daughter has Lyme or co-infections, it is best to start one drop twice daily & increase by one drop per day up to a dose appropriate for her body weight (a 40-pound child would take 40/120 or 1/3 of the adult 30 drop dose, which then is 10 drops twice daily & a 80-pound child would take 80/120 or 2/3 of the adult 30 drop dose, which then is 20 drops twice daily). Herxheimer reactions are common with the Nutramedix Microbial Defense herbs (like Samento) because they are broad-spectrum & powerful antimicrobials. Therefore, it is wise to give Nutramedix Burbur (at a dose scaled down from the 10 drop adult dose based on the child's body weight) mixed in 1-2 ounces of water every 10-15 minutes for 1-2 hours if the child has new symptoms or severe worsening of pre-existing symptoms after the antimicrobial is given. " My daughter was also 4 and just shy of 40 lbs. I started with 1 drop in 4 ounces of water twice a day on an empty stomach (30 minutes before a meal). I slowly increased by only 1 drop per day. So on day one I did 1 and 1, then day two was 2 and 1, then 2 and 2, etc. until we worked up to 10 drops twice a day. Good luck!
