My mom said I was pretty close to my Grandma Shirly, but she died when I was 4 - and from what I've been told she had a drinking problem too. I never knew very much about my Grandpa Orler, he lived in Iron Mountian (in the Upper Peninsula) he died when I was about 6 or 8, and the last memory I have of him is when he was in the hospital dying from prostate cancer =( I remember that he gave me money and told me to walk down to the corner to get ice cream because he said the ice cream in the hospital wasn't good. It was such a small town, the hospital was one floor and had maybe 10 rooms. I wish they had lived longer so that I had the chance to get to know them better. So now I try to see my other grandparents as mcuh as I can. My mom's dad remarried when I was only a couple months old, so she's always been my grandma. My mom's mom is still around, but a closet alcoholic and a chain smoker. I love her lots, but it's just a matter of time... =( Clear Lake is quaint little town, I love it there, I do.
