I had given myself and indian ink tattoo when I was 15 years old. It was a heart with wings that said Rod in it. Needless to say, a couple years later "Rod" was no where to be found....LOL

It took me twelve years to get the guts to cover it up. My X (then husband) told me that I 'couldn't' get one, which made me want one even more! I probably would have chickened out had he not said that.

A friend of mine's husband took pictures of my kids and designed a couple different angels to choose from. Then the tattoo artist, transferred the drawing to my skin. She did a great job. I had to find a female since it was so low I had to remove all my pants (panties included and shave half of the area UGH) She wanted a picture of it after the swelling went down, but I never went back for her to take the picture.

I'm glad the homemade job is gone. I had debated whether to keep it and show my kids why you never put a guy's name on your body or cover it. Got sick of X telling my kids that mom was bad because she had a tattoo, so I went ahead with a tasteful tattoo.

My ob/gyn was very careful NOT to cut her during my hysterectomy. Now hubby thought I was stupid for asking him not to ruin her?..... Doc said there was NO way he was going to cut the face of an angel... :-) lol

>============================Ok, since you'll admit that; even though my church thinks it's bad... I have my daughter's name & a garland of purple & blue flowers on the back of my right shoulder. I also have one on my tummy that I don't discuss - AND instead of an engagement ring, I got my navel pierced when I got engaged. (but I took it out when I started having a lot of medical tests) jen t

alenna,

how does one give themselves an indian ink tattoo??????? just wondering. and you say it was way down there, lol. did you have to use a mirror or what? ha ha

i got my first tattoo in 98 and hubby was on the boat when i did it. when he came home, he saw it, tried to rub it off, and that was that.

so i got 3 more this past fall and when he came home and saw them, he went totally ballistic. he actually said he was going to divorce me because of them. i'm not kidding. we fought for days. it was horrible. i couldn't believe it. he told me women with tattoos turn him off. well he hadn't been acting turned off since 98. was news to me. he still hates them all and this time home, i asked him if women with tattoos still turn him off, he said yes. so maybe that's why he doesn't want sex anymore. but from 98 through early 04, you could have fooled me.

i think that's so neat the gyn didn't want to cut your angel. i'd like to see a picture, but um, never mind. roflol

i had a female who did my last 3.

anyway that's my tattoo story.
