I swore that I would NEVER go into a hospital again except maybe for a TT.

Last night the hospital sounded wonderful. I'm glad I didn't and besides I

couldn't bear to wake my daughter up after she had been up with me for so

many hours. She has two toddlers ages 2 and 3, a husband who works nights

and now a good for nothing mom (just kidding) to deal with. She is the

best!

I'm feeling better, but not great. Wish I could get some protein drinks

down. Going to see about some pre-made ones today if I can get out of the

house.

Thanks for caring Vivian :)

In California - Feeling Better

-

It sounds like you've really been through the wringer

lately. I hope you're feeling better now. Make sure

you touch base with your doctor. I know after

everything you've been through, you probably rather

not have anything more to do with hospitals et. al,

but you don't want to get dehydrated or something!

Take care.

- I know very little about protein drinks, but someone on ObesityHelp.com

said that GNC has some sugarfree drinks that are kind of like gatorade. I

believe they are called Isopure or something like that. Maybe this would work

until you get back your taste for the other stuff you have.

I'm with you, Jeanne, I don't know much about them either, but I have a

feeling I will before long. I already went to the store and bought 4

different kinds of protein drinks. They are in the fridge cooling. I don't

think I saw the Isopure.

I saw on TV the other day that Gatorade was putting out water with vitamins.

Didn't think to look while I was there. I'm having a hard time

concentrating and the girl in the store was pretty clueless, nice, but

clueless.

Thanks. If these don't work I will look for the Isopure.

I looked up dehydration on the internet and it said that at the stage I am

at (moderate) I can hydrate at home. Just keep drinking. I'm going to call

the doctors office tomorrow morning.

Thank you !

That's what I'm doing. So far, I'm doing ok. I was feeling a bit sick when

I tried to drink the meal supplement that I thought was a protein sup. but

feel better right now. Taking it easy and keeping my bowl nearby just in

case. If anything changes in the night I will wake the doctor up. My

daughter or son-in-law can drive me to the hospital, if necessary.

Thanks !

OK, as long as you DO it. Maybe a dab of fruit juice or something mild in your

water? Some cool peppermint tea or lemon? Anything that soothes....

JUST SUCK IT DOWN! LOL!

When I had my c-scope last summer, I was deliberately dehydrated. I could

barely walk into the hospital, could not push my brain along in front of me, NO

veins so they COULD hydrate me, OH MY GOSH, I was so miserable and they did it

to me on purpose.

That's why I'm being SUCH a nuisance about it. That was a controlled

dehydration, but it went SO FAST, and I felt so very weak, stumbled and slurred

like a drunk. Ataxia, they call it,.

Yes, I believe they did, LOL!!!!

That's so sweet. How special he must feel to use his grandma's computer. I

think you need a lecture about knowing when to get your rest! I hope the

fibro goes away with a good night's sleep.

Nite, nite :)

Well, wait a sec. BEING dehydrated doesn't mean dead. It only means that she

needs to recognize it and take steps. If she can rehydrate herself, then she

doesn't need to be poked to do it. HOWEVER, it's much harder to hydrate us when

they can't get a needle into us.

I understand not wanting to drink anything after irritating the pouch for hours.

That stomach lining is hopping mad at her!!!

But this IS long past " might " be dehydrated. So, hopefully, she kept on sucking

down fluids all evening.
