Guest guest
Norma: I just checked on this.Lympadema and from what I read you can go to any therapist. just a regular PT. would be fine for the massage and the stretching.. and you can do this at home.. Have you tried elevating your leg's to see if the swelling goes down? Gentle Caring Hug's Marie Marie A. Roomsburg P.O. Box 346 Ava, IL. 62907 E-mail marieava@... or marieava62907@... Guest guest
I have had Lymphoedema for many years and it is always stressed to us "lymphies" that the therapist who gives Lymphoedema massage must have undergone very specialist Lymphoedema massage training. It is not the same as ordinary massage and ordinary therapists do not know how to do it. The drainage therapy has to be immediately followed but special compressive bandaging or compression garments. Again ordinary nurses and therapists do not know how to do the specialist bandaging. Different bandages are used. Special padding is used under the bandages to reshape the legs, otherwise they reduce but are nowhere near leg shape! Guest guest
Norma, I wonder if getting your hubby or Mom to lightly massage your legs with lotion upward so that they are massaging in the direction of the lymph nodes in the top of your legs would help and then maybe put on compression stockings or wrap in ace bandages. Just a thought. huggles bunches, Sundra Tutorial Font: Emma IM Letter By: AprilLynn Tube by: ©Teddy Bear Lane
