Guest guest
Hi Gang, I haven't posted in a long time but I have some GREAT news so I needed to check in. After almost seven years of non-stop constant, debilitating pain which quadrupled after my detethering 22 months ago, I am almost PAIN FREE! I have no idea how this happened. I went from about a 6 - 8 daily average on the pain scale to a 0 - 2 almost overnight. Well, actually over about a months time, but it feels like overnight. I am a new person. Since my detethering surgery I have had dozens of pain procedures. Every single one imaginable. SI joint injects, epidurals, facet joint injections, trigger point injections, nerve blocks, Rhizotomy, etc etc. None of these gave me any pain relief... until the last one. It was a facet joint injection and it cut my pain in half. I have had two prior to this one that did not reduce my pain at all. Why it worked this time and hasn't in the past, I have no idea. Then it occured to me that I was only having pain when I woke up in the morning. I thought there was no way it could be my bed, because six years ago when I bought this bed (a VERY expensive Tempur-Pedic bed) it decreased my pain in the morning. But after the last injection and having pain ONLY in the morning I bought a new bed. Nothing special, just a really good bed, without memory foam. And low and behold.... I am now waking up pain free as well. I do still have some pain when I over-do something, like hiking or riding my bike, or shopping for a long time, but the great thing is those are things I have been unable to do for years! So I'll take the pain. I can control it with non-narcotic pain killers and it feels incredible. So now in this (almost) pain free, narcotic free, joyous place I am in, I would like to say, there is hope!
