Bit of info and request for warm thoughts for a friend

Vickie Rickett, that canny retired SC HP gal, just e-mailed me to let me

know she's going in for unexpected knee surgery on Monday the 31st, and

is/will be " off the PC " from now until she gets home afterwards. Then

she's got at least 3 to 4 weeks on crutches (which she described with irony

as " joy, joy " ). Not very long ago, I kept her husband in my prayers when

he underwent serious surgery.

I want to share that she called long distance to my Comm Center on

Christmas Eve to personally wish me and my dispatchers a Merry Christmas

(at 0100 her time). It was such a grand surprise and so typical of her

thoughtfulness. (And I get to look forward to a shipment of REAL South

Carolina grits, soon, too!) I let her know that I was indeed wearing my

antlers ...

So let's keep Vickie in our prayers as 2001 comes to an end - and wish for

her speedy recovery in 2002!
