" Texas is starting its profiling stats Jan. 1 - what this means for my agency is every contact will be documented by citation. There will be no such thing as a verbal warning every thing is documented and the officers will bring their citations to dispatch and we will enter the information off the citation into a new program (that we haven't received yet) and then that program will be able to keep up with who is writing whom. ( or who, whatever! you know what I mean) Did I mention that this is supposed to start NEXT TUES and no software has been received? Hey, stress is my middle name! Guest guest
OK, this has been discussed on the list before, and maybe I'm being overly sensitive or something, but I just have to wonder--WHY IS DISPATCH DOING THIS? Once again, whenever someone can't figure out who should do record-keeping (Records, maybe?) it falls on dispatch. Who should answer these public works phones after hours? How about dispatch, they're not that busy. But let the phone ring three times because you're busy giving CPR instructions and the manure hits the fan! Luckily, this is not a problem at my agency, we are large enough and busy enough that we have a large records division and a crime analyst, and anything patrol wants entered into a software program, they do it themselves, but I feel for you guys at smaller agencies who do everything from dispatch to janitor and everything in between! > every contact will be documented by citation. > There will be no such thing as a verbal warning every thing is > documented and the officers will bring their citations to > dispatch and we will enter the information off the citation > into a new program (that we haven't received yet) and then that > program will be able to keep up with who is writing whom. > JoVina > Goddess of Dispatch
