Guest guest Posted December 28, 2004 Report Share Posted December 28, 2004 Betsy, First off, I wanted to say that your father doesn't believe in FMS because he has never experienced such pain. I think most doctors are text book doctors, if it isn't in the text books or hasn't been proven then it just can't be real yet. Sometimes, if MS is progressed enough it will show white lesions on the brain during and MRI. Right now, as far as I know, that is the only existing test and it doesn't always show up on MRI in the early stages. If that is the case, then it is more of a wait and see IF you get worse. Once you have full blown MS, they can diagnose it fairly easy but until then it is tough to spot.
