Guest guest
Very good and interesting podcast. Related to the evolutionary stuff they talked about in this podcast is the broaden-and-build theory. Thanks! This is a really good listen/read. I'm sure anyone who's ever felt lonely can relate. She brings up a lot of good points about connection and how it's necessary for people to connect with others. I took that same message after reading " The Grapes of Wrath " earlier this year. Ironically, it also sparked a depressive episode, leading me to go into hiding and eventually to this group! In her interview, she says " What I needed to overcome my loneliness was a deep, lasting and quiet connection and with that connection in place I was able to reach out and make other social connections. " This quiet connection is something I'm not familiar. Can someone enlighten me please? I've personally never had an experience in which I felt comfortable in silence, maybe around family members, but that isn't by choice. > > > Gotta love Radio National. 'All in the mind' has some great stuff. > > > Thanks for the heads up Stan. >
