Guest guest
Dave, Just a thought....allergic reactions are often the result of cumulative exposures to something. DH had wierd a wierd itchy rash that turned out to be from a medication he had taken on and off for years. So....maybe you need to look at all the meds, chemicals, and foods you're exposed to. I hadn't thought about the increases I've made in supplements. (no medication changes). I take evening primrose, vitamin e, flaxseed oil, and fish oil. Maybe one of those is doing it. -- Dave - 9:30:50 AM T2 - 8/98 Glucophage, NPH - Davors Daily Aphorism: My weight is perfect for my height... which varies. -- Visit my HomePage: http://dorcutt.homepage.com
Guest guest
Dave, I hope you won't think I'm nuts but ... ummmm ... fleas??? I think you have three dogs. Do they ever come in the house? My neighbor's cat dropped by for a visit and left fleas in my carpet. If fleas have an animal to live on, they prefer the taste of their blood to that of humans. But if any hop off the animal while it is in the house, they'll settle for second best: humans. They live in the carpet and jump up. They can really hop! They'll cause stinging and itching, from your ankles to your knees. I think their life cycle is a few weeks. Susie

For over a year now I've been getting " barely visible " rashes on my legs, from the ankles to just under my knees, that are terribly itchy! The only time they appear red is when I can't stand it and scratch the heck out of them. I haven't changed any medications that coincide with this starting. I have also had the wife change the softener that she uses in washing to no avail. I do use my hot tub most days of the week, and it has bromine, but I use very little to maintain proper levels. I've had that for over two years now so I don't think that it is the cause. I've even stayed out for several weeks when I had my operation and I still had the itching. My doctor prescribed some cortisone cream that doesn't help at all. I get best results from colloidal oatmeal lotion, but still not good enough. My doctor has even tested for circulation difficulties, and it's just fine. Anyone else have a problem like this? -- Dave - 9:09:49 AM T2 - 8/98 Glucophage, NPH - Whenever a rash appears do 2 things first, apply a anti fungal powder or ointment, like for jock itch and athletes foot, and get the dr to do a culture on it.the culture will tell the dr if its an infectiuon, which one, and what and how much to prescribe for it. It could be a simple fungal, a yeast rash. I'd try this first. carol ---------------------------------

There's really no image to compare this to as if you look at the skin you actually don't see anything unless I make it raw from itching. -- Dave - 1:39:55 PM T2 - 8/98 Glucophage, NPH - Davors Daily Aphorism: How many roads must a man travel down before he admits he is lost -- Visit my HomePage: http://dorcutt.homepage.com

Do they ever come in the house? AYSM?? :) This is their house, I just live in it. They have their own entrance. The are confined to the great room though that is commercial carpet, and very tight. I have watched very closely for fleas, since having a problem in my last house. I also wear white socks and fleas would be visible.. I do know what they look like hopping around. They are also on Advantage, which we put on their backs once per month. Besides, my wife generally complains about something two week before I do..
