Guest guest
I would be afraid if I were you also about self medicating because there are so many lines that cross in our diseases, but I would switch DR.s I have become the Queen of firing. Cardiologist said that they really cannot find any reason for it except that sometimes the electrical impulses get " jammed " . He said that he could put me on beta blockers, but advised against it unless the palps became debilitating. I chose not to. I started Effexor shortly after and the palps stopped for the most part. Guest guest
Have you contacted the Broda Foundation and asked them for a DR in your area? Go to the about.com list in you area and see if they have a current list. I had bad luck with every DR off the list. They all gave me Synthyroid. Today is day 1 Armour for me. By the way, I pushed and got no where except frustrated with closed DR.s. Re: Re: Let's stir the pot, here..coconut oil? Guest guest
I so agree with Janie, but I think one of the most overlooked thyroid problems is adrenal, since adequate cortisol is needed to get thyroid hormone into cells (resistance), and to convert T4 to T3. Cortisol (cortef) is safe and effective at low doses, and is probably THE crucial hormone for autoimmune diseases. I base that on the fact that Dr. Lee says progesterone cream cures autoimmune diseases in his practice/experience, and progesterone is a cortisol precurser. And I will say that I think I was as sick as Janie, near death, and now I am thriving on Armour and adrenal hormones. Guest guest
I think you are doing a great job of figuring stuff out. It can be so hard and confusing and then some of the fog lifts, and most of the time we realize we are not well served by the medical powers that be. have you read any of the good thyroid books? I like Broda , Brownstein and Durrant Peatfield MD.
