Guest guest
I read that the EPA never outlawed lead in paints, just asked the companies to voluntarily not use it. I also read that it is still found in some paints today, to include name brands. I think if you Google about it, you will learn which ones. Sadly, being certified in lead protocols might only mean they know how to test for lead and how to wear masks when removing it. They probably don't test new paints, assuming they are lead-free, kind of like doctors not knowing the ingredients in vaccines. Would you believe I actually seen a study saying that oil based paints were tested at being safer than water based paints. I am not sure if that study was accurate, as you may have found, there is much hype nowadays stating that a lot of research is not accurate. But, just saying, there are a lot of unknowns. But, they do sell paints nowadays with low or no VOCs. I bought some, and the smell wasn't even noticeable. Love and prayers, Heidi N Our condo was built in 1970 before the EPA lead standards went into effect in 1974. Be aware that the EPA passed a big law in April 2010 about all contractors and hiring of home contractors -- even building managers must be certified in lead protocols. Go to www.Safe-Homes. com for all that data (excellent company has helped me a lot). I just tested the highest possible in lead by UAA test, and that was after weeks of C IV chelation. Mercury to bottom of danger level. Others showing up but not in danger zone..
