Since the tragedy of Sept. 11, many people have been reminded of how

important the folks who work in the 911 professions are to us. Many dispatch

centers in New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Virginia went above

and beyond the call of duty when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center

and the Pentagon. It is not only the heroes on the scene that deserve praise,

but also the heroes behind the scenes that deserve kind and grateful words.

You can show your support by writing a thank you note, sending a card,

writing a poem or drawing a picture to express your appreciation to 911

dispatchers. The goal is to make sure every dispatcher who worked in the East

Coast dispatch centers gets three to four special cards or notes.
