I was completely utterly absolutely addicted to Coke and Mountain Dew and any kind of sugar soda you could possibly name. When I got the diagnosis of T2 I thought the hardest thing I could ever possibly give up was Coke (and all of Coke's little buddies). And you know what? A few days of drinking Diet Coke (with a wedge of lemon to cut the aftertaste) and my addiction was gone. I still get the caffeine but I don't get the 8 million zillion (it's a very precise number, I know) calories and carbs. See, this way I can eat more fun stuff like ice cream and chocolate (on occasion) and not have my bgs spike. Trust me Ken, give it up! Just say NO! It is EVIL! -- Lee 7.1 hba1c diagnosed Aug 2001; 5.6 hba1c Jan 2002; waiting on current numbers this week __________________________________________________
