There is no need to be " abusive " period. Personally, I haven't seen any

abuse.

Just very strong opinions expressed very strongly and some people upset by

the disagreement and/or sensitive on certain subjects.

I am pretty sensitive myself, but I have a mouth (and a keyboard) and a

DELETE button.

So it sounds like bragging to me when you all post that you can eat donuts

and hershey bars and pasta. Just my opinion, of course.

Long live Beta Cells!!!

n>>

Unbelievable isn't it, some people just don't want to hear something they can't

do, where one feels its bragging, what about the poster? Jealousy? LOL

the fact is there is a test coming to a dr near you that can tell your dr if

diabetic complications is a risk to you genetically. so if you don't carry this

gene, you could eat carbs and you won't get the complications, you may have to

deal with weight and high bg issues, but not complications.

this will be good for newly diagnosed diabetics, and does explain why some

peoples diabetic treatment and the way they react to dm treatment is so

individualized.

I am eating more carbs than I used to, it was financial, I'm a widow on

disability social security now, but for me I was getting in trouble emotionally

because I felt deprived, the fact is I can lower bg without doing low carb, I

use insulin, and my dr did tell me the idea of insulin is to lower bg no matter

what I eat. I'm just not into the low carb anymore like I was, especially since

its so hard medically speaking to digest veggies in the first, I have to eat

baby food for my veggies.

the idea of a list is to talk about everyones dm and how you manage it, not to

ridicule one for it, saying one is bragging is inexcusable, very rude, so is

one also bragging when one posts, oh wo is me, I can't eat donuts? Are you

bragging how great your bg is because you don't eat donuts? which is great, we

want to hear your good news, do the same for others.

I think you should stop posting such demeaning posts and be more positive, you

certainly got the support you wanted, you do the same no matter what the woe is.

Try refraining from posting negative, reread your post, imagine it being sent to

you, pracitice friendly netiquette. You're just making people feel bad, not

making your point a fact.

I know Teri, you keep having to say this over and over, it is a drag isn't it?

If I tell you to cut out potatoes or bread and you tell me to eat a Krispy

Kreme donut and dose it with insulin then we both are okay.

Now find out that Krispy Kreme is coming to Seattle, not Portland. 300 miles

too far to go for donut so I'm Saved! :-) Vicki

A great story, thanks! Your kid is something else, but you already know

that.

I think you're on to something here, gal. I have five sisters, plus a

brother Ken who died young. I was the baby of the family for seven years.

Then my kid sister came along. I grew up not being the baby and not being

one of the older kids. My dad was always sick and my mom was exhausted from

being the bread-winner plus the care provider for us, some of our

emotionally troubled cousins, her own parents, plus many " bums. " (Because of

my mom's decency, our house was on the " hobo circuit " back in the '50s.)

Also, we moved a lot and I was always the new kid in school ... Emotionally,

I have a " boarding house reach. " Although I've preached to others about

accepting people outside their frame of reference, I too struggle to

understand someone who is shy and fragile. What I object to, though, is

someone who is abusive with people who hold differing viewpoints. That is, I

think, neither an outgrowth of only-ness or herd-ness - but

spoiled-rotten-ness.

Gosh, Jo, sorry you have to deal with all that. I've been a prett healthy

person all my life...when I got the diabetes, I remember thinking, " okay,

I've got my disease, that' takes care of it, nothing else bad can

happen " ...magical thinking, it's called. Ha!

Anyway, again, let me mention that those Pure De-Lite chocolate bars may give

you more binge potential without as many carbs as regular chocolate chips

do...and they're certainly as satisfying. Also you can eat the whole thing

without worrying about diarrhea (as you do have to with the Carbolite bars).
