That doesn't rule out also having Lyme Disease as the two can be transmitted at the same time. Also I have a free Chronic Lyme (and it includes stuff on Babes) computer cd. This infection is also carried by ticks, and many people have two, three, or more infections that makes the clinical picture very confusing. Mycoplasma pneumoniae can also cause some sweating, but it is usually not profuse as you are describing. Best bet is to take him to a doc or medical group that is familiar with all tick-borne infections and get him checked out. I have heard of Borreliose Centrum Augsburg, but I do not know anything about the quality of their care, so I cannot comment on that. They may be a very good center for treatment in Germany.
