Guest guest
Fransel, did you do the Vitamin diagnostics test for KPU? I am asking because from my knowledge there are different labs testing for KPU, but Dr. K recommends the Vitamin diagnostics. Still he recommends even calling the lab when they get your results to remind them that they should not expose the sample to the light, because you may get false negatives this way. I just checked our results and sew that it is marked above 15 as positive for KPU. My results show HPL 332 and Kryptopyrrol 19.1 and I was told that I need to treat with high doses of CORE (6 capsules per day). I would assume that your results mean your son is within range but of course I am not a doctor and I might be wrong. Guest guest
Hi KrassiThe urine test was done by Health Diagnostics and Research Institute. I guess I should have it tested again at Vitamin Diagnostics. Do we need to stop supplements for this test? Of course stopping anything worries me. My son is just getting some relief from pains caused by inflammation. I had to leave this site for a week as I got heavily involved with understanding oxalates. I think my son suffers from high oxalates due to his SCD diet of nuts.In the Low Oxalates Group I learned that KPU is suspected if person is low in Vitamin B. Supplementation with more B, zinc, L Arginine are suggested. A wonderful and knowledgeable list mate read my son's OAT test.I was directed to an article on KPU and the description matched my son, e.g. Volatile temper and mood swings. Now my son does not aggress but he cries and is miserable. He is also very light and sound and touch sensitive which I suspect is from spirochetes. He also is experiencing Oxalate dumping since I started lowering his Oxalate intake. I think most lymies are also high in oxalates.Sent from my iPad Fransel, did you do the Vitamin diagnostics test for KPU? Guest guest
Fransel, When we were first going to do the KPU test Dr. K's assistant said that it is very important how the test is performed and strictly the urine has to be in dark at all times. She said if we don't follow their instructions very carefully we may get false negative. We knew already that my son has KPU from the ART testing, but I guess she wanted also to confirm with the test from Vitamn Diagnostics (or to see how bad it was exactly and what numbers will show). So when your son urinates the bathroom has to be dark (only little light to see when you are collecting it) and you immediately have to put in dark bottle (you can wrap it in aluminum foil to help with that). Then once you send the urine sample and you know the lab has received it you call them to make sure they don't expose it to light (I guess they haven't learned how important is that, so we the parents are supposed to remind them About stopping the supplements before that - from what I remember we had to stop only the vitamin and mineral supplements few days prior to testing (probably 3-5 days, don't remember the exact number, but everything is in the instructions). By the way my son also has oxalates problem and he is also on the Low Oxalates Diet. There is correlation between oxalates, KPU and PANDAS, probably you have read some of the messages there about that. My son used to have sudden rage epizodes in the past, when something didn't go his way he would bite very hard anything in front of him - me, himself, teacher, anybody who was next to him or holding him. Now after 10 months on the KPU protocol he is the sweetest boy, very calm and happy, and no extreme anger at all, so supplementing with CORE definitely somehow calmed his nerves. So I highly recommend that you test your son with Vitamin Diagostics to find out if indeed the KPU is part of the big puzzle for him. Hope this helps, Krassi > > > > > > I just saw a urine test on my son that read: Kryptopyrrol is 8.4 (ref range > > > <15.0). Does anyone know what this means?
