YES!!! Oh , please tell me he's nuts, lol!! I puree a very, very

tiny amount of home made chicken soup and ate it tonight. Maybe ate 1/2

ounce. Chicken, small amount of noodles, couple small pieces of carrots and

a couple small pieces of potatoes without skin. It was wonderful.

Any input thrilled to have!

Well, I took the puree stage out of the program for my doc. I think it is

detrimental to us. I'd rather see 'em do their clear period and step right up

to soft foods, like cottage cheese, baked potato meat, something that will fill

& satisfy, yet be a very small volume. To me, puree is like runny grazing.

Where he wants 'em on 1 oz of food, if they puree, they can easily get 8 oz in &

never feel it. Soooo, I think it leads to too much food volume, too much

" grazing " , so setting up habits, AND no feeling of satisfaction.

Soooooooo, they do clear & protein drinks for 4 weeks, then start onto soft

slowly. They can puree for a day or so, but then start on food, feel comfortably

full, comfortably empty and establish normal " food feeling " cycles that many of

us never had.

Hi, Chet;

Welcome, we're a friendly bunch. We also will discuss

stressors with you. So talk to us.

I agree with you. By being on the list, I have become more focused. For some

reason it has given me the motivation that was lost. Heck, I have even

checked my levels twice today. 113 this morning before eating and two hours

after lunch 103.

The walking I am doing to is a help. Thanks for the tip on the juice bars. I

will look for them the next time I am at the store.

The snacking is what is getting me. The famous excuse, " this little bit won't

hurt " <lol> Sure!

Stressors! Where shall I begin!

I was living with a person that is living with MS. We separated last July.

That was my choice. The chaos and stress of living with her just got to me.

The separation hasn't been pretty either. None of them are. This week though

has been hassle free. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the storm has

subsided and this isn't the eye of the hurricane.

I have been trying to do yoga and some meditation with it, but the mind just

can't get focused long enough. I haven't given up. Keep trying.

Hey, Chet;

Pour it all out; we've all got stressors, and they're

one of the " biggies " that raise the Bg levels.

It's great your working on the yoga and meditation to

help. If you've got a favorite and want to share it

with the list; by all means go ahead!

I'm not sure where in Michigan you are, but some folks

from church said it took about 11 hours to get there

from here.

Wish I could!!

Hi Kathy,

Welcome to the group. Glad you found us. You will get encouragement and

support from everyone. You can get back on track. When I decided I wanted

off meds, I changed the way I was eating (went with lower food portions) and

started exercising more. Now that I've lost 54 lbs, I don't want to gain a

lb back. I did gain 5 lbs over the winter, but was down to 114 yesterday so

I've lost the 5 that I had gained. I love the new me, the way I feel, the

way I look and I love all the compliments I'm still getting. Keeping your

weight off will help you stay off meds longer. It is hard to lose weight and

we all have denial periods, but life is worth living. Don't be embarrassed

and don't be so hard on yourself. Today is the first day of the rest of your

life.

Hi, I am new to the group. I was diagnosed with type II diabetes

last February. I have been able to keep it in control, so far with

diet and exercise. Problem is for the last 8 weeks or so I have been

in denial, about it and binging. My weight is up, and I am feeling

pretty ashamed. Any one got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Kathy

Madge, I had fried potatoes, real jello, orange juice, everything a diabetic

shouldn't have. They just don't have the manpower to do two different kind

of diets. Thanks for writing, Lou

You really have to speak up for yourself while in the hospital. Ask

questions if you don't they might not realize what is going on.

Hope the pain eases soon, my mil is going in for knee replacement Tues.

Isn't it curious the HOSPITAL causes your sugar to go out of control.
