ah, was waiting for someone with the same answer!!! I bought the 45 of " Da

Doo Run Run " which I played until I drove my mother crazy and she broke it!

Got the album for Christmas, still have it and put it on once in a blue

moon. Donny Osmond and Sonny and Cher were other favorites... My 19 yoa

cousin was amazed a couple of years back when Phil covered " Groovy

Kind of Love " and she found out it wasn't new! About as surprised as I was

when I learned that " Da Doo Run Run " was a remake of the old Crystals

tune....

" Welk " .........I have met so many people who's grandparents refered to him

I remember most of it and my oldest is only 13! My family was

not 'well to do' had an out house until we built the 'new house' in

1960.

tell. I think Vern may be running a little ahead of me, since he has

a 40 year old son, my oldest is 35! Let me tell you, there comes a

point when you are so glad that you have made it through so many

years that you don't worry about your age or vanity. You are just

glad you still wake up in the morning, all of your family is still

with you and you are able to go to work.> AMEN!

I hate to admit this but I have a working 8 track player and 8 track

player/recorder; plus several rotary dial phones (I got those at a ham fest

for $0) as extensions for the basement etc. My kids thought they were so

" retro. "

I have 10 years to retire.

Had them in NE Iowa (Waterloo/Cedar Falls) in the early 70s. Had a couple

ladies that would yak on that thing all day. My roomie got on the phone and

would act as if he were talking to someone else and they would shut up. It

was a hoot guess you had to be there.

How about KAAY the Might ten-ninety Little Rock, Arkansas. Clyde Clifford on

the overnight shift. I used to call him (once in a while when in college).

That's what got me into disc jockey work. Great fun being a DJ. Still love

it (dj weddings, dances, parties). Actually I can play music as loud as I

like and no one sez " Turn that crap down! "

Hey there's another one...AM radio was all the rage. No one listened to FM.

Of course no one had FM receivers in the late 60s & early 70s.

I feel I earned my grey hair. I would be proud of it if it had not jumped
