Guest guest
Eunice, Is the List Owner? If needs help trying to understand how to unsub members, I will be more than glad to help. I own 7 different Yahoo Lists. It's very easy to do. I also really do think it would help to revise that Footer Message. I mentioned this once before but NO ONE ever responded to my post. The way it is written, it looks like you must go to a web site on IE or Netscape in order to unsub. In actuality, you simply need to write a post to an email address and 'poof', you're off the list. (Thought I'd mention it again just in case someone wants to respond to me this time.) Guest guest
, I beg to differ with you. I own several Yahoo lists. All Yahoo list owners and moderators CAN unsub people from their lists. You can also set people to be moderated if they are 'trouble-makers'. It's just that maybe has chosen to promote members to unsub themselves. I can understand her reasoning for that also. Guest guest
THIS particular group is set up so that we cannot unsub. I have several lists also, so I know how to do it, I also know that and Eunice know how to do it. We can moderate, ban, but not unsub. has this list set up the way she wants it. If a person can join the list, they certainly can un join on their own. Guest guest
, In your previous post you said " ....we as moderators can't do that. " You were wrong by saying that. You certainly CAN unsub people. That is, you have the ability to do that. It's just that has the list configured so that option is not allowed the moderators. I was not challenging your ability or that of or Eunice. I'm sure you're quite capable of doing anything you set your mind to do. I was simply telling you that you CAN do that. I also talked about and her reason for you not being set to do that. Calm down!!! This is only a discussion list! No reason for you to raise your B/P!!! Fondly, Ric Ross At 02:34 PM 5/2/2002 -0400, you wrote: >THIS particular group is set up so that we cannot unsub. Guest guest
Phyllis, I'm so glad that you posted. What you say is very true. Yahoo set these lists up so that all List Owners and List Moderators can unsub (if they set the lists up that way). But the list owner can unsub any time they wish to. They do that just in case someone is very disruptive and is causing trouble. Then, the member can be put on 'moderated' status so that all posts from that member will have to first be approved by the owner or moderator before going out to the general list membership. The owner and moderator may also ban a member from ever becoming a member again by simply adding that members email address to the 'banned' list. Guest guest
Ric As I understand it from my daughter who owns a list that if you are unsubscribed by the owner you can not come back which may be why chosed to do it that way. That way if the person desides to come back they are able to. Carolyn Type 2, Actos & Insulin

Guest guest
Carolyn, That's not true at all. I've unsubbed people because they wanted to leave the list for a couple of months, and then they got back on the list with no problems at all after their vacation was over. However, if you " BAN " that member when you have unsubbed them, then they will NEVER again be able to join that same list with that email address.
