Guest guest Posted April 29, 2002 Report Share Posted April 29, 2002 My grandfather in law's birthday party - I ate grilled chicken breast, a 1/2 cup of potato salad, and maybe 2 tablespoons of baked beans. Skipped the corn, rolls, etc. Had a slice of pineapple updsidedown cake after dinner. 2 hours later my BG was 190! I blame the cake. I wish I had taken my BG before dinner, darn it. How do the rest of you handle holiday meals? When I cook my own food I can measure and track everything, but other people's cooking? Who knows? Is it rude to bring your own food (diet pop, sugar free dessert, etc) to a family gathering? If they don't cater to my needs I may have to.
