Guest guest
A couple things in this post: 911 Cares update. Thanks! Notice of new mail receiving procedures at various affected centers. Thanks to the financial donations from some (just a few) of the console members and many (yes, many) of the students and new friends that we have met at PSTC classes and state conferences, we have been able to fund some great support programs for the affected centers of the Sept 11th attacks. We have purchased 50 of 's book " surviving dispatch stress " from the publisher and will send them directly to affected centers. We are also sending some of our memorial pins later this week. We have also invited the DC area centers to attend classes being hosted by Montgomery County,MD in December. We are doing 3 stress classes there. We have already heard from one center that will attend. We thank Montgomery County Fire 911 for helping to provide the classes for their neighbors in need. and I authored " pocket guide to surviving stress " this weekend. It is a one page tri-fold that will fit in a pocket or purse. It provides the highlights of coping and more. We are printing 5,000 and they are being sent this week to all centers affected. Each calltaker, dispatcher, trainer, supervisor, manager, trainee and support staff member will receive one of these pocket guides! Thanks to all that have sent us checks and made donations. Due to the recent anthrax scares and infections, some affected centers have tightened security. No worries for the 911 cares program. We have ensured safe delivery of anything we receive. I won't go into detail but please know that all packages sent to us at PSTC is safely inspected and then sent to our direct contacts at safe addresses. We are getting appreciative e-mails and have guaranteed delivery. If you were on the fence about sending directly to us or the centers directly, this may help you. All monetary donations and cards or letters or art may be sent to: PSTC " 911 Cares " PO Box 5508 Redwood City,CA 94063 Questions? E-mail kevin@... THANKS AGAIN! We will have another web update within a week that will include a picture of our 911 cares pin. Donations of $5 or more will receive a free pin if you include a self addressed, stamped envelope.
