Guest guest
I have heard about this type of disorder, but I have not seen it. I do not remember the name of it at the moment. Anne M., BSN, MSN/IH, RN mcfighter@... TERRIBLE hunger, dont know anymore .... Hi all, My son has developed a behavior that makes me feel surprised/worried, l don't know what might have triggered it: he wants to eat ALL the time, he is throwing tantrums when we refrain him (after eating amounts that should be enough for an adult man) and cries like in a real torture. I think this is anxiety. Have you seen this/similar behavior in your kid? Is there a way to help him go back to stability regarding his eating habits??? This is not only disruptive, l am also afraid he might get overweight... Thank you so much to all! Guest guest
Yes, my girl was like that. She still will eat constantly if I let her, but it's now manageable. Two things helped her, treatments for parasites and digestive aides. I also only let her eat when the other family members ate. If I didn't control it, she would eat non-stop. Guest guest
Been living this one for a long time but it's getting better.....any bugs dying can create a lot of hunger, yeast makes us hungry, chromium can help for some, food allergies generate cravings. It's a full moon....has this been going on long? Hopefully panivir did something and the hunger is a symptom of new bugs acting up.. Matt has been able to pack away enormous amounts of foods and is still small...growing now that we dumped a nasty oxalate food and curbed back some mediums that in excess were high....dumping oxalates can make you ravenous as well.....fun, and it always seems to break the bank! Guest guest
Isa, Have you checked his insulin levels? many of our kids suffer from hypoglacemia(sugar levels dropping suddenly) and that why they need to eat often. Some people also said that parasites could be the cause for constant hunger. But if you have been treating him for parasites I doub this is the cause. I hope you find out what is bothering him. Guest guest
I have heard that constant hunger is typicsl for kids with oxalate problem, when they are started on LOD and parents start reducing amount of oxalates they consume, these kids develop constant hunger for high oxalate foods, as their body craves those foods, very much like drug addiction. Does your son ask for mostly high oxalate foods? Another bit of info, sometimes when some pathogens die in stomach and intestines they realize a lot of acid, which created burning feeling, and eating makes ut less irritating. I wood try giving him alkazeltzer GOLD with potassium carbonate between meals, or whenever possible to bring the acidicy to neutral PH and see what happens.
