Guest guest
Heidi, that is really interesting! What treatments were you getting from the DAN for nerve damage...were they put through insurance as well? or did you just submit the doc. some insurances reimburse great on mental health...other plans suck. the scam is you never know what you are gettig to after you pay. Guest guest
The nerve damage is the autism symptoms and other symptoms like OCD. I just worded it nerve damage to the person at the insurance company. They don't know stuff about infections causing autism and OCD, so it's best to just use wording they understand. The words " nerve damage " everyone understands. I think my point is to get clever with the insurance companies. Call back and speak to different people to keep trying. Once you learn what kinds of things they will allow referrals for, use that angle. For example if they don't treat autism, but treat Bipolar, you can use Bipolar. Two of mine have Bipolar diagnoses on top of Asperger's. Or you can use their chronic tonsilitis symptoms or gastro symptoms, whatever works and whatever the doc you want specializes in. For example, if it's a doc that likes to focus on gastro issues, then tell them of your child's chronic gastro issues. I told them that this doc was the only one in the area that specializes in my kids's issues. That was a good argument. I prayer too, as always. Since our kids have so many different problems: allergies, gastro, tonsilitis, autism, etc., than there are so many options to choose from. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > > Heidi, that is really interesting!
