Guest guest
That is wonderful news, Lou! Progress is being made even when the night seems darkest. Tears do cleanse, and they annoint the profound moments in our lives. After a long absence, my daughter came around tonight for dinner. WOW! What a journey, (I tried, somewhat unsuccessfully to stay present with her, I felt so excited/relieved/hopeful/astonished, it was hard to stay with it really) she even bought me a necklace. WOW AGAIN!I see...ok...small steps lead to giant leaps sometimes.I dropped her back at her place and now I'm home without her again. It is not possible to hold back the tears. It's the gap that that Russ talks about I think, between what you want and what you have. Gosh it hurts a lot. At least I am still here. I am present for my child.I am thankful for all of my teachers, of which there are many on this list.I am appreciating life and love today amongst tears of the cleansing kind. (Detlef taught me of cleansing tears, cheers mate).Lou
Guest guest
Thanks so much for sharing this. Lou! What a joy. Dinner!I am mostly moved by your continuing to reach out, honor your yearnings regardless of what the outcome might of looked like at certain junctures, regardless of your hurt. I consider this heroic, to say, okay, she's not talking to me (or whatever it was at one point)now AND I'm going to keep doing what I might since this is where I stand. I'm going to honor where I am now and do what is in my control and let the pain associated with "it's not how I want it to be now" just be. To stand in the Yes that is so for you pain an yearning and all. Much easier to say: To heck with that" and put a wall up. It sounds like even when it wasn't always pretty, you stood there with Lou, and you are standing there now. kind regards, terryTo: ACT_for_the_Public Sent: Wednesday, October 19, 2011 3:04 AMSubject: The cleansing type of tears I'd like to share some good news. Guest guest
Hi Lou,This is one of my favourite quotes; I hope it speaks to you: “There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.” – Washington Irvine All the best,Cheers, Russ www.actmindfully.com.auwww.thehappinesstrap.com From: ACT_for_the_Public [mailto:ACT_for_the_Public ] On Behalf Of experiential2010Sent: Wednesday, 19 October 2011 9:05 PMTo: ACT_for_the_Public Subject: The cleansing type of tears I'd like to share some good news.
