Marie, in answer to your questions, 1) my fibro was brought on " full

force " in 2001 when I had surgary to remove a lump from my left

breast. Before that I had hurt on occasion but never more than a

couple of extra strength tylenol wouldn't handle. The day I woke up

from the surgary I hurt from my head to my feet SEVERELY... it has

been that way ever since. 2) As for depression, I have suffered from

depression and insomnia for most of my life. Those two problems were

brought on due to being sexually assaulted when I was a teenager. I

was even to the point of being suicidal when I was about 30 but never

received treatment for the depression until I was diagnosed with the

fibro.

OK answer to question #1 I have had so many traumatic experiences am not sure what it was exactly... could be a number of things that went on in the end of 1995 to the end of 1996..... lost my 2nd baby to death in the womb, said that my body ate it.. that was very hard for me to take,,, then became very ill afterwards with extreme pain and everyone said it was in my head till months later when they found out that my gall bladder was very bad off and decided to take it out... then my husband of 12 years told me he was cheating on me and was leaving me for someone far better than i could ever be..... then like 2 months later was hit head on by a drunk driver and totaled my brand new car. Pick one!~

#2 Question.... i have been depressed before but not to this extent... and was never diagnosed with it till 2 years ago.. and then a year and a half later was diagnosed with Fms.... okies that answers them lol ;) hugs

Huggles you lots ;)

Marie, I had no traumatic experiences before the fibro, but I do

think it was brought on by stress. I've had anxiety problems for

years before I got fibro, and depression too, but not as bad as it is

now.

Who knows?, for me. Take your pick of traumatic experiences as a

child. I've been more in control of the kind of people I've been

around as an adult.

A couple of years ago I had some pain that the dr could never find a

cause for. She suspected that I had some virus in my system (like

the chicken pox virus) that lay dormant most of the time, and stress

made it act up. She told me that, but never diagnosed anything.

Depression runs in my family. I don't know if the fibromyalgia has

made it worse because I don't know for sure if the fibro began only

this year after my pg losses. That is certainly when the

immobilizing pain began.
