Guest guest
Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge. I much appreciate it. I will go back to eating bananas if my digestive system can stand it - I love them but they were one of the things I cut out a year or two ago as my system seems to be rejecting more and more things. I have not been well this year but once I am able physically and financially I am going to arrange an appointment with the herbal doc her in UK as recommended by 's in US. Have just had porrige and a banana for breakfast - scumptious! Thanks again to everyone for the help. Liz > > The cramps are more than likely due to low potassium-- potassium is what aids the muscles- and sadly people on meds and who use puffers etc OR who take fluid tablets etc deplete their potassium very quickly. > IF you have altered your diet- maybe you haven,t been having the fruit and vegs that we get natural potassium from. > You must be careful when taking supplements for potassium, because too much is as dangerous as not enough-- Potassium deficiency can be very dangerous- can get such chest cramps etc that also can mask heart problems- can also create same- > A good rule of thumb is to make sure you have a pear and a banana a day a day OR of course 2- they together or either , are equivalent to a daily recommended dose, /amount needed daily--- pears and bananas have the equiv. > Silver beet, spinach etc, but many other foods have potassium-- potassium is excreted, in urine, sweat etc. > Many women who have night sweats etc also need to keep close eye on potassium levels-- > Good idea to ONLY take supplement ( from pharmacy or health food shop etc) after you have seen your doctor and have had blood tests. > Most asthmatics, CF. COPD in general do suffer with the occassional depletion of potassium. > Restless legs syndrome- has NOTHING at all to do with bronch - it usually is caused by medications taken for psychiatric and neurological meds- is able to be treated very well for most people. > Sandy-- >
