Guest guest
My son has pretty bad nasal and sinuses congestion and not been able to breathe through his nose at nights for two months. We started reaping off the carpet from our master bathroom to replace it with tile today and will go through room by room to change the wall-to-wall carpets to wood and laminate floorings for next few months. I wonder if a diagnosis code of mold allergy and/or unspecificed allergy can qualify for taking the money from our flexible spending account to pay for these projects. Has anyone gone through this and can share with me what tests and diagnosis codes are appropriate for getting the reimbursement? Thanks much. Guest guest
Limin, We were able to get a substantial medical discount on our taxes this year. I hope we're not spending more than the average! Anyways, there was a section where medically-necessary home improvements could be covered. We switched to bamboo flooring at year end but my hubby thought it too risky to put down as a reimbursement on our taxes. There was something about calculating increased home value as well, so we just shelved it. But if you can get an MD to give you an rx for it, it may be well worth it. Let me know if you need more info. I generally leave the tax stuff for my hubby who has a cpa and only half tune-in when he talks about that kind of stuff(!) so there may be more info out there. ~Anissa > > > > > > My son has pretty bad nasal and sinuses congestion and not been able to breathe through his nose at nights for two months.
