Guest guest
Hi everyone Just wondering who has the coughing fits for an hour each morning. Since I had an operation in May I have had worse mucouse and sometimes when i huff I feel like something flaps in my chest as if i cannot clear whatever it is there. I am sure something was damaged when I was in hospital, why all of a sudden do i have this much gunk which I might add cannot seem to cough up. I guess it is loose once I start coughing bu even my swallowing is hard cheers Lee Find local businesses and services in your area with Yahoo!7 Local. Get started. Guest guest
Hi Lee, Oh god, doesn’t sound good at all.... More mucus is caused by more inflammation in a lung area. When did you last have a CT scan, sounds really like would be a good idea.... Even a bronchoscopy to see what’s going on (but make sure you’re given the knockout!! It’s awful without it). It does sound like maybe you still have some infx left – and pneumonia can really knock the stuffing out of people, esp if already have lung probs beforehand. Is the mucus more purulent ie darkish coloured, smells? Do you have pea size quite firm lumps, then other times very runny? Do you have nebs that help. If you can tolerate (take it slowly at first) hypertonic saline or mucomyst. I feel I’d be near dead if I didn’t have these, plus physio. I also have less coughing fits. Try ventolin – even if not asthmatic it helps ease bronchospams which cause the coughing fits. Do hope this resolves soon, can find help .... Cheers, joyo
