Hi Sandy

Nope got me muddled with someone else dont know what the balls are and havent had a nebuliser but really should but so confused as to what to get and of course how one uses one and when. Country bumpkins here ya know in town. Usually the couhging and gunk is for the first hour in a morning then I am fine for the day but since May its a constant throat clearing and blowing nose and thick sticky throat. Cant swallow it cant bring it up. On Oroxine now so that might help the weight gain and metabolism lets hope.Trouble is it takes a few months to start working.

Cheers Lee

Lee I had same surgery you had- but had mine 2 1/2 years ago if you remember- thats why I have the hernia- yes I too got lots of UNEXPECTED muccous after surgery BUT because of such abdo pain I pretty much could only clear- or try to clear my throat all day-- BUT did then get stuck into that thingamee jig- with the 3 blue balls-- you do know what I mean hey-- I used it every waking moment I could, and still did for 3-4 moths at home- helped heaps to get the slight puff, and the bits of muccous up etc.

Lee I also found swallowing was so difficult and felt like I had everything lodge in my gullet etc.

Was my esophagus-- I was told there appeared to be small hole and maybe later require more surgery- BUT I was damn sure I wasn't having anything else done- for a long time--

I got put back on losec for a week, because I was allergic that was all I could manage however that and yoghurt-- and creme caramel ( much easier on my belly too.

Worked too.

I had about 9 bottles of the peppermint water they give the chemo ladies- it also helped BUT took over 5 months for that all to settle.

Sounds like you are NOT getting enough up from deeper down-- I would be using a nebuliser-- and b nebs of all your puffers and saline etc.

BEFORE you start to panic- didn,t you used to have a nebuliser??

You can still hire from SOME hospitals, BUT chemists too lend- as do some of the organisations that hire and sell home aids-- etc.

Go get another check up and ask for referral for nebuliser - till you can go get one-- I was sure you had one way back-- you do need to act ASAP as there is a stinking summer heading yours and our way-- you don,t want to have this still then.

Do you take thyroid tabs have you been suggested a thyroid op?

It was suggested to me about 15 years ago- then I just managed for a few more years doing everything I could, and had lots more tests again about 8 years ago and thyroid was ok--

Hasn,t changed again since- BUT I did have a slight pancreatic scare about 6 years ago and they said thyroid was a little out and watched for a while- all settled.

Must admit I was drinking a little more wine back then- not a huge lot but definitely twice what I do now--and that's my stomach- just won't permit me to over indulge in anything at all

Please take care-- have you still got one of those breathing things- with the balls--?

I still use mine when I get dizzy or have a feeling that there is a plug somewhere that needs moving and getting out etc.

Hugs Sandy
