Guest guest
My results were basically the same as yours. Being positive IgG means that you have had for a long time, not neccessarily that you had it in the past and now it is gone. It will not go away on it's own. I have had it since 1978. It can hang out for along time without causing major problems. I would say that you have Lyme. What did your LLMD say? RobinH. > > I recently got tested for Lyme and my IgG was positive, but my IgM was negative. Everything else was negative. I'm assuming I had Lyme in the past... and it's gone now?? If this is the case, how could I have recovered from Lyme without drugs/naturals. BTW, I feel great, just joints hurt occasionally in the mornings, but Rheumatoid Arthritis runs in our family and dietary changes seem to improve the joint pain. Could I possibly still have Lyme? > > Thanks, > > Pam >
Guest guest
I have heard of people having severe symptoms from Lyme and then getting well without much treatment, maybe eating better, exercising more, or self-meditation. I have also heard of people saying they got what seemed like the flu for a few days after a tick bite, and then years later, they got severe Lyme symptoms. I have seen many, and I mean many, posts saying that they got very sick with Lyme symptoms years after either getting well from Lyme or not really getting sick after their tick bite, but years later, developing chronic symptoms, anywhere from arthritis, to loss of speech and loss of ability to walk. Lyme suppresses the immune system. It is believed by some professionals that Lyme can live in people not doing much harm, but then when a stressor comes along of any sort, it can then take over. So, it's complicated. It is also said by many of the famous Lyme docs that often one will stop producing enough antibodies to show a positive in testing due to the immune system wearing out from the Lyme. So, the procedure is to treat for a month or two or longer and retest. I have seen posts where people treated for over a year before they started producing enough antibodies to show positive for Lyme. They were originally diagnosed via symptoms. So, yes, I regularly see posts such as yours, that one has Lyme antibodies showing past exposure, but not current antibodies. If symptoms are present, many of the LLMDs or other savvy Lyme docs will treat as if one has a current infection. It's important to seek out a knowledgeable doc, herbalist, or homeopath or all three, because you need to diagnose and understand your condition. It's pretty stressful dealing with your average doctor, who often feels that Lyme is a rare infection or easily treatable. It appears that many factors make Lyme worse. I have seen doctors report that parents of children with severe Lyme symptoms test positive for Lyme even though the parents consider themselves to be healthy. It is theorized that Lyme effects people differently depending upon genetics, other immune stressors, other pathogen loads, diet, and especially toxins like mercury. There seems to be a big connection between mercury and Lyme symptoms. Keep in mind that fish, especially tuna, silver dental fillings, some vaccines, etc. are sources of mercury. Love and prayers, Heidi N > > I recently got tested for Lyme and my IgG was positive, but my IgM was negative. Everything else was negative. I'm assuming I had Lyme in the past... and it's gone now?? Guest guest
Absolutey. Most of us don't test positive IGM. I no longer had arthritis after a year of treatment. Still treating, 3 years later, but no more arthritis, fibromyalgia, CFS or brain fog. Caryn > > I recently got tested for Lyme and my IgG was positive, but my IgM was negative.
