baking soda is abrasive to the enamel and I have seen many sites indicate its probably best avoided for children. many sites indicate children can brush with plain water. they need to avoid sugars (candy, soda, etc.).

If you are concerned, you could just use baking soda and sea salt.We use a flouride free toothpaste. I too have used straight baking soda for many years. My dentist is always

amazed at how good my teeth look at my semi-annual cleanings.
